Hemingway With Widgets

Hemingway is finally supporting widgets from WordPress.com

I’ve used this theme for the blog for over two years now, and widgets are finally supported! This is awesome, I love the simple and minimalistic feeling this theme has. The only thing I was annoyed with was that it didn’t fully support widgets through WordPress.com (though the creator of the theme keeps on updating the theme for WordPress.org), but that is in the past now.

If you take a look on the front-page of the blog you’ll for example notice Twitter updates. This is something that, a few days ago, was impossible to do as this theme only supported (a kind of) widget-system implemented specifically for this theme. It seems like the team behind WordPress.com may have done some stealth-updates, I’m very thankful for that at least.

I’ll definitely take use of the newly added widget support, I already have a few nifty widgets and ideas spinning in my head.
