Killzone 2 demo
Released today, on the European PlayStation Store.
If you don’t have a European PlayStation Network account -> Create a new XMB user, create a new PSN account (Set your country to one in Europe, for example Norway) and insert any address in Norway, I think it can be quite random as well so it doesn’t really matter much. Note: You might need another e-mail account as well, use Google’s gmail for example.
First impressions:
ProsĀ
- “Realistic” Artificial Intelligence, your enemies are aware of you and afraid of you – they’ll take cover when you shoot and run away from grenades (Or at least try to) and will also move against your position and if outnumbering you will try to flank your position.
- Great graphics, it looks sharp and very post-apocalyptic, vivid display of surroundings – dust flying through the air, bloodsplatter when you take damage, motion blur when you move and shaking when explosions hit near you.
- Good sound effects, both effects and character sounds.
- Control scheme, with possibility to remap more or less any button (As well for a switch to either trigger-scope or click > scope > click > unscope. This was discussed heavily during my time as a beta-tester in the multiplayer as well, glad Guerilla listened).
Cons
- Nothing negative came to my mind during the first playthrough, if anything the sensitivity and movement is a bit sluggish unless you change it before starting up.
