Playstation 3 and YouTube
Sony and YouTube relationship.
Sony has confirmed that developers can now integrate YouTube functionality in upcoming and existing Playstation 3 games.
YouTube’s new development tools will enable gamers to capture and upload footage recorded while playing games, according to an announcement made on its blog API.
Not much unlike Halo 3 or Ninja Gaiden’s possibilities for recording on the Xbox 360.
The following statements were made by Nikhil Chandhok, Product Manager for YouTube Syndication.
This YouTube upload functionality can be incorporated not only into new PS3 game titles, but also existing PS3 titles that have the ability to receive network updates.
Gamers will now be able to upload their in-game video captures to YouTube. We’re excited at the opportunity this presents and look forward to more and more games to be enhanced with YouTube.
How great wouldn’t it be to upload a video of yourself wrecking havoc in Liberty City, or getting a triple-kill with a grenade in Call of Duty 4 on YouTube? I know I will love it.
* PS3 system software must be updated to the latest version.
Perhaps we will see firmware version 2.36 coming our way soon?
